About This Course

Python Programming for Artificial Intelligence is designed to equip first-year Computer Science Master’s students specializing in Applied Artificial Intelligence with the essential Python programming skills needed for Artificial Intelligence, data science, and data-driven applications. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical activities to progressively develop learners’ programming and problem-solving competencies.

Throughout the course, learners explore 7 learning units covering:

  1. Chapter 1: Basic Python Programming

  2. Chapter 2: File Management

  3. Chapter 3: Data Manipulation with Pandas

  4. Chapter 4: Vectorized Computation with NumPy

  5. Chapter 5: Data Visualization Tools

  6. Chapter 6: Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Python Modules

  7. Chapter 7: String Manipulation and Text Analysis

By the end of the "Python Programming for Artificial Intelligence" course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the fundamental concepts of python programming including syntax, data structures, and control instructions.
  2. Write structured and modular python programs using OOP principles to solve simple and complex programming problems.
  3. Design meaningful and informative data visualizations for analyzing data and interpreting results using Matplotlib and Seaborn.
  4. Choose appropriate cleaning and transformation techniques to process and prepare data for AI-related and data-driven tasks using Pandas.
  5. Develop autonomy in problem resolution and program debugging.

Requirements

To be able to enter the "Python Programming" course, students must:
  1. Demonstrate basic computer literacy, including file management, software installation, and operating system navigation.
  2. Apply fundamental arithmetic and logical reasoning to understand programming concepts such as conditions and loops.
  3. Apply structured problem-solving skills and demonstrate a basic understanding of programming constructs, including algorithms, conditional statements, loops, and functions.
